During this session, Kelly Wooford, Lara Nkurunungi, and Aricia Rouse from the Erie County Office of Health Equity discussed the process of developing and implementing a community based survey designed to guide the development of the newly formed Erie County Office of Health Equity earning support from community members, community partners and business owners. Participants heard about the importance of building and sustaining relationships, developing community outreach initiatives, overcoming obstacles and developing inclusive surveys to answer difficult but necessary questions around the social determinants of health.
